Great ideas, students!
Today students voted on their next blog topic. Some will be writing about sports. Other students will be writing about public secondary school choices- regular education, alternative education, or court mandated education. They will compare and contrast the three while focusing on the advantages and disadvantages of each.
Great ideas, students!

Emily Lince won 1st place at the Kirtland Open-Mic for poverty held at Grayling Country Club. The evening raised money for Kirtland's emergency scholarship program & was a great success! Emily wrote a quatrain poem & did an excellent job presenting her work to the audience :)
What Will You Do to Help Poverty? POVERTY………… it is every nation’s plight From the cities, suburbs, and the countryside This is a war we all must fight Certainly an issue we need not ignore and one we cannot hide ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ For those that live and we have labeled poor Turning our shoulder because they’re considered needy A simple cold truth of those who have more So…….. is part of the cause those just being greedy ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Look at the man who chose duty instead of riches He gave all he had in the defense of his nation Because of his wounds, he lives in a box and combs the ditches For most, all they can do is shake their head and say they show their appreciation ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ What about those who are not loved yet are fortunate All their desires have caused them to be empty and cold This lust for more has ultimately made them unfortunate Now their daily lives have become worn out and old Poverty has many faces to be told +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Looking ahead we all aspire to be financially wealthy Though for some this dream will never be All the riches in the world can’t keep us healthy So……. With this poem I hope you can now see and ask yourself What will I do to help poverty? By Emily Sue Lince Welcome to our blog!
