Since Thanksgiving is almost here, I'd like you to create some artistic poetry with Thanksgiving/fall images. (Refer to classroom examples for help). Please use the following links as resources: http://www.poets.org/page.php/prmID/537 |
*Make sure to include one well-written ten line gratitude poem of your own, and one written by the poet of your choice. Do your best!

After you are finished reading about Ms. Hurston, I'd like you to compose a paragraph detailing what you've learned about her life/accomplishments.
Describe a time when you thought you had everything figured out, and things did not turn out at all as you expected.
Write about an experience where you felt very proud of yourself. For example, you may choose something you worked hard to accomplish, learned a new skill, or met a goal you set for yourself (learning to play an instrument, doing well in a class, learning skills at a new job, etc.). In your opinion, what can we learn from those younger than us? What insight might they have in life that we may sometimes forget? **Please make sure to finish any missing work from last week as well. For today's assignment, you will need to write three paragraphs. You can use the prompts above- focus either on one or two of them, or all three, your choice. |
