Please refer to Vocabulary.com for help with your assignment. Choice #1-
Choose one character & create a collage using Google Drawings. I'd like you to pick quotes that represent that individual's personality, strengths, and weaknesses. You will need a minimum of three quotes from the book (12 quotes total). http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/topics.html https://www.goodreads.com/quotes On your second "slide," I would like you to explain why you chose your quotes (2 paragraphs). To access Google Drawings, please go to Google Drive>New>More>Google Drawings. Choice #2- You may type a one page (12 pt. font) letter or diary entry from the viewpoint of Curley's wife or Aunt Clara in order to provide backstory information that is missing from the book. Perhaps Curley's wife might reflect on why she married him, or we could get a glimpse into her younger life. You could also show the relationship between Aunt Clara and George to help explain why George is committed to help care for Lennie. If you'd prefer, you could also write a diary entry through Candy's eyes, as we do not know a great deal about him as a character. Mini-projects-
I would like you to choose a character from the book to focus on for a journal entry or letter- an SS officer, Moshe the Beadle, Tzipora, Madame Schacter, Zalman, Juliek, Cousin Stein, Sarah (Elie's mother). While choosing a character we may know less about, I would like you to imagine his/her experiences in the concentration camps. What were his/her fears? Who would he/she have written to if the opportunity arose? Topics you can focus on may include: escape plots, warnings to others, how he/she passes the time, messages he/she would like relayed to others etc. 1 page typed (12 pt. font & double spaced). **Please remember- I am here to help you! If you are stuck or have writer's block, I am more than happy to brainstorm with you. :) (1st hr.) Eng. 11- Vocab. #5 (cauldron)
