www.vocabulary.com (Please provide a two paragraph response in your writer's notebooks using two supporting quotes).
(2nd hr.) Eng. 10- self-driving cars article What are your thoughts about driverless cars? Share. These lists were put out by the auto insurance industry. Can you find bias in these lists? Are there other factors that were overlooked or missed? (4th hr.) Eng. 12- Facebook conflict article What are your thoughts about the crisis at Facebook? Explain. What interesting points/observations/writing techniques were used by the author? (5th hr.) Eng. 11- http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/03/health/meningitis-elimination-vaccine/index.html 1st- summary paragraph 2nd- How can this vaccine change the lives of those living in the 'meningitis belt'? What other research/treatment is necessary to eliminate meningitis? Article response student example: (11/20 Brain disorder AOW) One brain disorder I found interesting which I experience is the phantom ring. This is the imaginary presence of a vibration in which people believe their phone went off. In the first paragraph, Bensmaia stated, "What happens, I think, is that because your clothes are rubbing against your skin, you cause activity in the same receptors." This is what causes the phantom ring. Two thirds of a group of adults were proven to experience the phantom ring. Another rising disorder is known as cyberchondria. This refers to people who research and diagnose themselves with illnesses, both physical and mental. People who have symptoms matching diseases they research are convinced that they have this disease. Medical professionals are outraged by their patients' self diagnoses. Psychologist Mary Aiken stated in the article, "For a number of reasons, medical professionals aren't too happy about the self-diagnosis trends." These disorders are two examples of the way that technology can potentially affect one's health. (2nd hr.) Eng. 10- Mindset Ted Talk
(4th hr.) Eng. 12- Change myths Ted Talk (5th hr.) Eng. 11- Focus Ted Talk When you are done, I would like you to discuss two of the jobs mentioned in the article. What advantages exist for choosing these careers? How much training is necessary for these jobs? What benefits do you see in those lines of work? (financial, day-to-day activities etc.)
I would like you to create a digital collage using 12 quotes of your choosing (a combination of plain and picture quotes is fine). Please choose quotes relating to your future goals, dreams, and ambitions.
